I've always wanted to be a logger and seeing you guys work is making my goal come true i am going to start my first job in 2 weeks settin chokers!!!!!!!!

Great website looking at those pics. brings back some good memories. I worked in the woods for twenty three years from Hoonah Alaska down to lake Tahoe Nevada.

I really enjoy the show!! After 42 years in the woods ,logging on the BC coast & vancouver Island I can appreciated what you guy do!! Quite a different way of logging than up here. I did every thing from setting chokers to hoe chocking , roadbuild with cats & Hoes, to running a camp for Frank Beban Logging.

What a neat site. Great pictures out there in the woods. My family history involves quite a bit of logging/ lumbering. My grandfather and father lived in Fairfax, Washington where my grandfather was the office manager for the Manley Moore Lumber Company. I have many old photos of the mill and logging railroads, camps etc. I've spent hours pouring over those 10X14 pictures. I recently acquired a number of them and had them restored at a local photo shop. They did a wonderful job and I now have them all on disc-best ting I ever did.

Darrell Holthusen is the man! I was most impressed with
his skill with the chain saw when he got his family out of
the woods at the end of season 1. We sure do miss him and
his logging company on the Axmen show. I'm gonna order some Gustafson wear!

You guys need to come back to the ax man show

You guys need to get back on the show because I can't take anymore aqua logging besides swamp man. Phil logging can't keep it together with flip outs left and right in seson 1 and can't even finsh a job in seson 2 and Melvean Lardy is busting Phil's stuff left and right. You guys need to get back on the show because you guys are the only crew that don't take it as competition and just work.

I'm thinking in particular of your actions and reactions during and after the storm. To this you add the best management and people-handling skills I've seen in my 63 years. Gustafson clearly have a great team - my salaams to each and every one - but, more than that, they have a sure, skilled hand on the helm. Darrell, you restored my faith in human nature. Thank you!

I greatly enjoyed watching the show . I started my own logging company whenI was 17 I'm now 22 . It has been a hard uphill battle but worth it. I can realy relate to your trials in the woods . It was realy an eye opener to see you safety glass break on the buncher . Keep up the good work.

Hi fellas, I grew up in a logging family in Montana. My Grandfather owned a sawmill, and my father ran the logging operation. Unfortunately our company fell pray to one of the first timber crisis back in the 60's. I worked for a couple smaller outfits, but finally decided a new career choice was in order. I miss it and am proud to see companies like yours still getting it done. Nice job.

I am in the process of purchasing 160 acres in northern california how do i go about finding a logging company that will come clear some areas for me, maybe purchase some standing timber and cut some roads i am having a difficult time please help!

I've always been intrigued by the logging industry. It's interesting and majestic in it's ways. I own a construction company here in Delaware (East Coast, Mid-Atlantic Region) and we mainly operate as a concrete, masonry and excavation contractor. We don't log but like I said, it's always been an interest of mine. Well, I was bored and browsing the internet, came across your site, I must say, a pretty cool site indeed. Great site.I am 63 years old,and i have spent 40 years of them in the woods as a faller.Once it's in your bloob it's there to stay and nothing else will do.

Thanks for the site, brought back some fond memories of logging the big redwoods. There was a big push in the 80's to get the last residual old growth on the mendocino coast. I happened to be able to participate in that and am extremely grateful. Thanks and good luck.

all i can say is i love ax men and loved gustafson logging company. im fifteen and i hope that when i get out of high school i will become a logger. and eventually own my own company too.

its nice the 'gustafson logging' company show and appreciate their workers!..some other logging company owners don't give credit where it's due,they like to promote themselves as having built the company rep, without acknowledging the workers out in the brush,wind and rain! good business always goes both ways.
